Training for corporate flight departments is an ongoing effort and each company achieves their results in a different way. West Capital Aviation provides customized efficient and cost-effective training options that may help your company by offloading some of the training tasks to us. It's not that your company can't do effective training on it's own - but is it the best use of your time to do so?

1. Pilot Candidate Assessment

We work with you to come up with a written test, simulator flight profile, and aircraft flight test for potential new-hire pilots. We coordinate the written test and simulator assessment directly with the candidate and provide the results to you. If a flight test is then desired one of our senior instructors will put the candidate through their paces in an IFR flight "test" and again provide you with detailed written results. You have the option of having one of your staff ride along to observe. This program is completely customized for each company we work with. It is both cost-effective and efficient for you in that we provide an initial filter for candidates and your time is only spent on ones that have a skill and knowledge level that you have established.

2. IFR Recency

We work with your pilots to ensure they maintain not only their IFR recency (if, for example, they do mostly VFR corporate flights) but also keep proficient with handling of emergency procedures and situational stresses. We have a stock of standard scenarios that we use or can customize them for your flight department. Costs are controlled through focussed sessions in our simulator in Ottawa.

3. Technical Ground Training

We have a long history of flight training including advanced technical ground training courses that can be provided to your pilots/employees at various levels. Training can be done to meet Transport Canada requirements, to introduce new technologies, or to provide general interest courses for your flight department.
